Taste is one of the key elements of our Natural Feeling concept, the desire to create a place where you can take a break to regenerate and reconnect with nature. We decided to pay special attention to the comfort of our spaces and rooms, giving emphasis to our spacious park and our spa as a temple dedicated to wellbeing.
Piazza Gusto is the last piece of this holistic regeneration experience. It’s not just a physical place, including a breakfast room, pool bar and bistro, but a concept that symbolizes a philosophy - enjoying the Italian and Trentino culinary tradition throughout the day, from breakfast, to lunch and aperitivo, all the way to dinner and beyond.
The idea is to offer our guests a flavourful stay, at different times of the day and in different places. To make this ambitious project come true, we relied on chef Francesco Ruffini. Thanks to his experience, Francesco was able to read and interpret this vision, to share with our guests the abundance, colours and scents of Italian Mediterranean cuisine and - specifically - of Trentino and Lake Garda. The Italian character and local, seasonal ingredients
In Piazza Gusto everything is linked to tradition and the Italian character - at breakfast you can enjoy espresso coffee made with the moka, at the Pool Bar you can find pizza cooked in a wood-fired oven, and our evening menu features traditional Italian dishes, from north to south. Traditional Mediterranean ingredients are combined with the local Trentino tradition, specifically that of northern Lake Garda.
A “poor” mountain-influenced cuisine, yet fascinating, that lends itself well to being reinterpreted in a modern way with a touch of innovation from the expert hands of our kitchen team, with raw materials carefully chosen to achieve this. That is why we decided to focus on ingredients and dishes that are as local as possible, according to the seasons. Following the seasons is essential - it is the only way to share the essence of the territory with our guests, to offer an authentic experience.
Places and moments of taste
Piazza Gusto is a concept divided into different places and moments.
It starts with our fragrant and energetic Buongiorno Breakfast, set up in the room overlooking the park, and organized on themed stations, like a sort of lively market - there are homemade cakes, different types of crunchy bread, puffy filled doughnuts, crêpes with hazelnut cream, Garda Foodie® branded pastries, as well as no shortage of savoury options such as eggs and bacon, local cheeses and cured meats, plus yogurt with cereals and muesli, and fresh fruit.
Finally, in line with our Natural Feeling, we also have a detox corner with fresh juices that will make you start the day with lots of energy!
Then there’s the Pool Bar, immersed in the relaxing vegetation of our park, perfect for a light lunch or a drink by the water, between a swim and a little rest. Here you can find light and seasonal dishes, tasty salads, drinks and cocktails, until aperitivo time.
There, you can also enjoy a real taste of Mediterranean cuisine! In fact, we bake authentic pizza in a wood-fired oven at the Pool Bar. The dough made with high-quality flours and long proofing time makes it irresistible and enhances the simple ingredients that have all the aroma of Southern Italy, such as the datterino tomato puree and the fiordilatte mozzarella from Agerola.
At the Bistrot, the dinner menu mixes traditional Italian taste with seasonal proposals that focus specifically on the Dolomites and Lake Garda, revisiting great classics or suggesting new, carefully chosen combinations. Dinner becomes a journey through the flavours and memories of Italy.
To end on a sweet note, our guests can enjoy the sophisticated desserts by Garda Foodie®, our sweet and savoury artisan pastry shop, located in the Astoria Resort Art Nouveau villa - a place of excellence where craftsmanship and passion meet to win you over.
