Romantic Getaway on Lake Garda

Are you planning a romantic getaway? Lake Garda is the perfect destination for you! Spend a romantic weekend with your loved one, between enchanting views, unforgettable sunsets over the lake, and romantic evenings under the starry sky, celebrating your love.

We would like to recommend 3 different romantic excursions on Lake Garda, perhaps to be combined with the ‘Love Escape’ package, to alternate moments spent outdoors with a relaxing massage and spa session.

Romantic Walk to Canale di Tenno

One of the best romantic experiences to be had is an unforgettable walk to one of ‘The Most Beautiful Villages in Italy’. We are talking about Canale di Tenno, a unique village 11 km from Riva del Garda, which has remained largely unchanged since the Middle Ages - visiting feels like travelling back in time.
You can get lost between narrow alleys, ancient stone houses, wooden balconies and frescoed walls, and then visit the Casa degli Artisti (Artists House). This house-museum hosts temporary exhibitions, workshops and lessons for those who want to get closer to the world of art.

During the summer, do not miss ‘Rustico Medioevo’, the event that takes Canale di Tenno back to the past - between storytellers and people in costume, you can taste typical dishes of the Trentino tradition, such as tasty polenta with goulash, and the ubiquitous carne salada and beans.

On the shores of Lake Toblino

Located about 25 km from Riva Del Garda, the romantic Lake Toblino is truly a fairytale place. You can take a pleasant walk around its banks, starting from the bridge that separates Lake Toblino from Lake Santa Massenza, to continue along the secluded wooden footbridge that runs along the lake. After a few minutes, you will see the silhouette of Toblino Castle, nestled in the mountains.
Continuing along the lake, you will reach the village of Sarche. It will take you about an hour to walk there and back. Lake Toblino reserves sweet surprises for food lovers, thanks to the opportunity to sample local wines. From the sweet notes of Vin Santo, to the fruity, slightly almondy taste of Nosiola, produced in this area, you’ll be able to undertake a journey with your senses along the shores of this enchanted lake.

The “Pearl of Lake Garda” - Sirmione and the caves of Catullusù

An unforgettable excursion on the Sirmione peninsula will make you fall in love with its historic centre, and allow you to relax on the beaches of Lake Garda. Start your day with a walk up the ancient walls of the Scaliger Castle, in the heart of town – make sure you climb to the top of the tower, and the view will leave you speechless. Get lost in the narrow streets of the centre, the perfect opportunity to do some shopping in small, local craft shops. Keep walking for about 15 minutes along Via Caio Valerio Catullo, to reach the archaeological site Grotte di Catullo (Caves of Catullus). You will admire the remains of one of the largest Roman residential villas in northern Italy, stretching over an area of about 2 hectares, surrounded by a historic olive grove with 1500 trees. You can stay until sunset to enjoy an unforgettable view, with the bright-orange sun slowly slipping behind the hills.

After the excursions to discover places that will steal your heart and make you fall in love again, the romantic weekend on Lake Garda continues with the proposal Escape of love of Astoria Resort!
